Lauren was born and raised in Tiburon, California and received her Bachelors from the University of Southern California in 2007. Dr. Malachowski received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Loma Linda University in 2012. She enjoys working with a wide variety of injuries and utilizes manual therapy, joint mobilization, therapeutic exercise, and education of movement. Lauren has extensive training in Pilates from Balanced Body, which allows her to incorporate Pilates equipment and Pilates principles into her practice.  Her philosophy of practice is a firm belief that all patients should be given the tools to help them work towards function and independence. She has a special interest in evidence-based research because she believes it is important to be on the cutting edge of advances in the field of physical therapy. In fact, it’s this very commitment to learning that encouraged Lauren to become an APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor and to share her knowledge with doctoral students of Physical Therapy.

Lauren spent 8 years of her life in competitive sports, four of those years spent competing at a division one level in rowing at USC. Her athletic background has enabled her to design and implement sport specific training for her patients. Dr. Malachowski strongly believes patients can improve their quality of life and physical status with physical therapy. 

Before returning to Marin to start Ross Valley Physical Therapy, Lauren began her career as a lead Physical Therapist at Pleasanton Physical Therapy. Lauren transitioned to a Center Manager position for Vibrantcare Rehabilitation. Her pursuit of quality care and excellence led her to open Ross Valley Physical Therapy. Lauren envisioned a clinic built upon three very important ideals: trust, compassion, and excellence.

Lauren is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the California Physical Therapy Association.

Lauren currently resides down the street in Greenbrae with her husband and two young daughters.
